Parental Area and Parental Controls

How to share media content between profiles?
Due to Android 4.2 privacy system, the internal memory of the tablet is split for each profile: in a consequence, the files created or copied on the internal memory by USB are not visible from a profile to another one (for example: a picture taken from profile A cannot be accessible from profile B).
So, to share files between profiles, we strongly recommend using the external SD card: this storage memory is completely visible from every profile on the tablet.
For example, if you want both profiles A & B to be able to see a movie, store it on the external SD card.
However for generic applications, this card is read only, use the tablet File Manager or connect to a PC to manage the content of the SD card
How to create a child profile?

See the product specifications
Can I play Flash videos on the Internet?
Yes Kurio is compatible with Flash 11.1 but as Flash player for Android was discontinued by Adobe, we cannot guarantee this will always be the case.
How does the content filtering work so my child can safely surf the web?
Your Kurio comes with a fully customizable web content filtering system, providing the most secure solution for each member of your family to surf the web safely. Provided by CronLab, over 450 million websites in 170 languages are indexed and categorized daily as appropriate or inappropriate content for your child, and more are added every day through auto-updates to keep your protection detailed and up to date. When a site is determined to be 'naughty' or 'inappropriate', it is automatically blocked.

You can customize the content filtering software by selecting one of the predefined profiles according to age, or you can specifically determine which categories to allow or block by selecting Custom Filter. You can also create safe lists and block lists that scan simultaneously with the content filtering software to further tailor your child's Internet experience!

Please note that our filtering software is amongst the strongest systems available, but, as with any system, it cannot filter 100% of websites so adult supervision is still recommended.
What can I do if there is not enough memory on the system to install updates or install more apps?
Applications can only be installed on the internal main memory of the device. Therefore we recommend to use this storage mainly for the application and use an external SD card to store personal files like pictures or movies.

If the internal memory is full, you can go in the Settings / Storage and check what can eventually be deleted to free up some space. Applications can store a lot of data in cache so you may have to clear the applications cache. This can be done by clicking on the line called Cached data. A pop up message will as you to confirm. Deleting cache data does not erase personal data or game progresses.

Ultimately, you will need to uninstall some applications.

Updates can be installed from an external SD card if needed. If possible it is safer to do it using the internal memory. If you need to use the SD card, make sure that the SD card will not be removed during the update process as it may corrupt the system.
